Jerramungup

Due to the population growth in the region and a corresponding demand for housing, a lack of available residential lots in the Jerramungup town site has been identified and Council has for some time been investigating land rezoning options to make additional land available for sale, with its final plans being focused on a portion of unallocated crown land in Sydney Street.

In September 2009 the Shire received a taking order for this land which is subdivided and appropriately zoned for residential purposes, and at its Ordinary Meeting in February 2010 Council resolved to proceed with the Sydney Street development as proposed within the Council Business Plan - Residential Land Development Sydney Street Jerramungup.

Earthworks and stormwater drainage was completed in early 2011 for the release of four (4) lots fronting Collins Street. work on these lots was essentially completed by June 2011 with remaining services such as power and water still to be connected.  Applications for these services have been made and it is envisaged that the blocks will be advertised for sale before the end of 2011.
